Today was finally the day!
The first Namibian Ultimate Frisbee practice.
But we started some weeks ago with hanging up posters
everywhere on the campus. Then we played Frisbee for about 3 hours on
the Campus and gave a Flyer to everyone and collecting names of interested students to get the Dean of Students to get us a field to play on.
And today we had about 10 Namibian students that want
to join us for practice. What do you think, how much showed up? Four.I think it's a big success for a country that got
lectures where even the lecturers are late (don't ask me about the
students xD ) and the most Teams started like that.
We planned to meed up with everyone at 4 pm, so when
did the first three students arrive? 4:20. And the fourth student
showed up at 5 pm. So what, TIA - this is Africa xD
OK we started with some basic throws (backhand,
forehand) and a easy marker drill. And then : the first Ultimate Frisbee game with
Namibian Ultimate Frisbee Player EVER xD
A totally mess. Like every time when noobs try to
play Ultimate for the first time. Pull - Pass - Turn - Pass - Turn -
Pass - Point. Huck and D' xD
But after two month without Ultimate it was fun again
playing 5 on 5 (we had some backup from the Hostel and a guy that
played with Frisbeefieber Gießen before).
